Faux Furrdown Wall
OUR SOLUTIONS:
SCOPE OF WORK:
We were asked to design and build a faux furrdown with printed wood to match the reclaimed wood on the other walls. It needed to be able to support neon lighting, and hanging pendant lights. TVs were mounted via ceiling mounts hung from inside the furrdown wall. It could be easily disassembled if the store design changed and be able to be reused at another location, if desired.
SOLUTIONS TO OUR CHALLENGES:
We needed to engineer and produce a lightweight, easily assembled 43' furrdown wall with the same look as the reclaimed wood on walls that would be very close to it. Actual wood pieces were scanned and a work and turn interlocking pattern of the wood was designed. Engineering designed the furrdown to be lightweight and structurally capable of supporting lighting underneath and on the face of the wall using 1" Ultra-Board. The innovative design of the wall allowed a two man crew to install and complete the whole build in a day, saving a substantial amount of time and money compared to traditional construction methods.
